He is Russian. Irkutsk is where his roots are and it shows. Andrey Klassen’s drawings are at the same time brilliantly melodramatic and yet cristal clear, persistingly narrative and yet open for any kind of apperception. In short: irritating. Klassen got his University Master in Germany and lives in Dresden, a city loaded with history, full of untold stories, and this great artist builds bridges to our fast and furious paste of life. Andrey Klassen does not fit into mainstream categories but is one of a kind. Awesome!
