Monya Rowe Gallery is pleased to announce a group exhibition featuring a selection of new small paintings by six gallery artists.
Erin Milez (b. 1994, Pittsburgh, PA) received a MFA from New York Academy of Art, NY and a BA from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, WA. Her work has recently been exhibited at Lorin Gallery, LA; Arsenal Contemporary Art, NY; Cob Gallery, London; Kutlesa Gallery, Switzerland; and Monya Rowe Gallery, NY. Milez is a two-time recipient of an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant ( 2020 & 2024). The artist lives and works in Seattle, WA.
Carson Monahan (b. 1985, Ann Arbor, MI) received a BBA from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan. Recent exhibitions include Conduit Gallery, Dallas, TX; Monument, Kingston, NY; and Monya Rowe Gallery, NY. In 2023, the artist was awarded a residency at Willow House, Terlingua, Texas. Monahan is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Detroit, MI.
Marcelle Reinecke (b. 1989, New Orleans, LA) received an MFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), Philadelphia, PA and a BFA from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Reinecke also completed studies at the Studio Arts College International, Florence, Italy and was a Resident Artist at the Royal Drawing School, Dumfries House Trust, Cumnock, Scotland, U.K. Recent exhibitions include Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, NY; Margot Samel, NY; Ruffed Grouse Gallery, Narrowsburg, NY; and Monya Rowe Gallery, NY. The artist lives and works in Philadelphia, PA.
Bryan Rogers (b. 1977, Waterbury, CT) received an MFA from Pratt Institute, New York, NY and a BFA from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. Recent exhibitions include M + B, Los Angeles; Huxley-Parlour, London; Kutlesa Gallery, Switzerland; Dinner Gallery, New York; and Monya Rowe Gallery, New York. His work has recently been featured in Surface Magazine (“Bryan Rogers Dreams Up Blissed-Out States of Existence”), The Wall Street Journal (“Bryan Rogers: Wallflowers’ Review: A Blooming Talent”), and profiled in Artnet (“Artist Bryan Rogers Conjures Fantastical Queer Landscapes in His New Jersey Studio”). Rogers’ work is in the public collections of the Museu Inima de Paula, Belo Horizonte, Brazil and the X Museum, Beijing, China. The artist lives and works in Hartfield, VA.
Gretchen Scherer (b. 1979, Indianapolis, IN) received a MFA from Hunter College, NY and a BFA from The University of Illinois at Chicago, IL. She has completed residencies at Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting, ME and Vermont Studio Center. Scherer’s work was recently exhibited at Robilant + Voena, NY and Milan; Richard Heller Gallery, LA; Patricia Low, Switzerland; Taymour Grahne, London; and Monya Rowe Gallery, NY. The Spring 2024 issue of Juxtapoz Magazine included a 10-page feature on Scherer’s work. Scherer is included in the recently published book by Phaidon titled, “New Surrealism: The Uncanny in Contemporary Painting”. Her work was highlighted in Harper’s Bazaar Latin Art Issue in “Artists to Follow in 2022”, and in New York Magazine by Jerry Saltz in “The Best Art Shows of 2021”. The artist lives in West Creek, NJ and works in West Creek, NJ and Brooklyn, NY.
Lily Taylor (b. 1993, New York, NY) received a MFA from Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI and a BA (English) from Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT. Recent exhibitions include East Manning Projects, Providence, RI and FLAG Art Foundation, NY. The artist will have her first New York solo exhibition at Monya Rowe Gallery in February 2026. Taylor lives and works in Kingston, NY.
