Morgan Lehman Gallery is proud to host HAGD Contemporary, a collective of rising international artists, for a group exhibition featuring voices from Australia, Europe, and the United States. Based in Aalborg, Denmark, HAGD Contemporary is renowned for championing emerging artists who enthusiastically challenge artistic conventions. HAGD is excited to present a bold vision for contemporary art in New York City.
The exhibition, “Have a Good Day”, features work from nine artists:
Christina Zimpel (Australia): Zimpel’s bold, minimalist portraits capture raw human emotions through expressive brushstrokes and vivid contrast.
Line Munch (Denmark): Munch explores familiar forms like pots and vessels which she uses as a medium to push the boundaries of ceramic sculpture and glazing. Her work embodies an aesthetic that is brutal, fragile, and raw.
Natalia Arbelaez (USA): Arbelaez, a sculptor and ceramic artist, explores themes of identity, culture, and history–creating intricate and deeply personal pieces that reflect her Colombian-American heritage.
Bob Geerts (Netherlands): Geerts blends abstraction and figuration in his paintings by depicting contorted geometric human forms that evoke emotional depth. His minimalist lines and muted tones create a unique sense of intimacy and tension influenced by modernist approaches.
Rune Christensen (Denmark): Christensen is known alternately for minimal and highly detailed paintings that combine elements of folklore, street art, and global culture. His colorful works seamlessly blend fantasy and reality.
Manu García (Spain): Garcia’s figurative paintings explore themes of family, love, nature, and the subconscious, offering dreamlike interpretations of human experience.
Nicklas Johannes (Denmark): Johannes focuses on the interplay of light, shadow, and texture to create immersive and ethereal environments in his paintings.
Hendrik Beikirch (Germany): Beikirch is renowned for his powerful, monochromatic portraits, which often depict individuals with extraordinary life stories. His work reflects the rawness of human experience.
Jascha Froh (Germany): Froh’s work features minimalist, sometimes nearly invisible motifs that revolve around diverse human emotions. He frequently draws on his signature characters — ducks and rabbits — to narrate his stories.
While the works in “Have a Good Day” vary in style, medium, and theme, they are united by a shared sense of creative freedom and fearless ambition. Join HAGD Contemporary for an extraordinary exhibition that embodies their youthful fire, drive, and desire to shape the future of contemporary art.
