Allan Stone Projects is pleased to present “Living Large: Big Paintings from the Allan Stone Collection”, an exhibition and auction of 29 large-scale paintings in collaboration with Rago Arts and Auction Center.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Allan Stone (1931-2006) amassed one of the most expansive collections of modern and contemporary art of his era. “Living Large” celebrates the broad aesthetic of both figurative and abstract painting within the collection. As a dealer and collector, Allan Stone’s passion for promoting and collecting powerful work was fueled by his belief in art’s ability to change and enhance one’s life.
Artists featured in the exhibition and sale include Robert Baribeau, Bo Barlett, John Beardman, William Beckman, James Bohary, Peter Dean, Derrick Guild, James Havard, Kazuko Inoue, Ray Kass, Steve McCallum, Robert S. Neuman, Ron Schwerin, Edvins Strautmanis, and Richard Wood.
A selection of paintings from the sale will be exhibited at Allan Stone Projects in New York, April 4 – May 11. Additional works will be on view at Rago in Lambertville, New Jersey, April 27 – May 3. All works will be auctioned live at Rago with online bidding via bidsquare.com on Saturday, May 4. A catalog of the sale will be available online at ragoarts.com on April 15th.
