Works on Paper

Monya Rowe Gallery is pleased to announce a group exhibition featuring a selection of works on paper by Cindy Bernhard, Emily Marie Miller Coan, Erin Milez, Bryan Rogers and Gretchen Scherer.

Cindy Bernhard (b. 1989, Chicago, IL) received a MFA from Laguna College of Art and Design, Laguna Beach, CA and a BFA from American Academy of Art, Chicago, IL. Recent exhibitions include Richard Heller Gallery, LA and Andrew Rafacz Gallery, Chicago, IL. The artist lives and works in Chicago, IL, and is represented by Richard Heller Gallery, LA.

Emily Marie Miller Coan (b. 1991, St. Petersburg, FL) received a BFA from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Her work has recently been exhibited in group shows at Sotheby’s, New York, curated by Jerry Gagosian; Edward Mooney’s House, NY, curated by Olesya Ivanishcheva and Kenny Schachter; Gowen Contemporary, Switzerland; and Kutlesa Gallery, Switzerland. Coan exhibited a solo exhibition at Monya Rowe Gallery in 2022. The artist lives and works in the Hudson Valley, NY.

Erin Milez (b. 1994, Pittsburgh, PA) received a MFA from New York Academy of Art, NY and a BA from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, WA. Her work has recently been exhibited at Lorin Gallery, LA; Arsenal Contemporary Art, NY; and Monya Rowe Gallery. Milez was the recipient of an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant in 2020. The artist lives and works in Bayonne, NJ, and is represented by Monya Rowe Gallery, NY.

Bryan Rogers (b. 1977, Waterbury, CT) received an MFA from Pratt Institute, New York, NY and a BFA from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. Recent exhibitions include Taymour Grahne, London; Richard Heller Gallery, LA; and Kutlesa Gallery, Switzerland. Rogers had his first solo exhibition at Monya Rowe Gallery in 2022. The artist lives and works in South Orange, NJ, and is represented by Monya Rowe Gallery, NY.

Gretchen Scherer (b. 1979, Indianapolis, IN) received a MFA from Hunter College, NY and a BFA from The University of Illinois at Chicago, IL. She has completed residencies at Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting, ME and Vermont Studio Center. Her work has recently been exhibited at Taymour Grahne, London and Gowen Contemporary, Switzerland, co-curated by Rachel Cole. Scherer exhibited a solo exhbition at Monya Rowe Gallery in 2022, and was included in a two-person exhibition with Anne Buckwalter in 2021, also at Monya Rowe Gallery. Scherer’s work was recently highlighted in Harper’s Bazaar Latin Art Issue in “Artists to Follow in 2022”, and in New York Magazine by Jerry Saltz in “The Best Art Shows of 2021”. The artist lives and works in West Creek, NJ and Brooklyn, NY. Scherer is represented by Monya Rowe Gallery, NY.
