Remember that you’re going to be paying for those extras, and who wants to pay for something that they’re not going to use? If the CRM software that you’re interested in offers way too much for your needs and all you need is some basic functions, there’s no shame in downgrading and looking for something more simple. Caveat: keep in mind that your business will grow and choose something that will provide you with a bit of legroom. You don’t want to have to buy again next year in case your business grows faster than you had expected it to.

Finally, take a good look at the company you’re considering buying a CRM package from. More specifically, look at its clients list; are they comparable in size to your operation? If your business has roughly 500 clients, you don’t want to get a CRM solution that’s used by companies that have 10,000 clients. It’s also recommended that you check the company’s reputation, their history, and how well-run their customer service is. If they’re selling CRM software, their customer service should be excellent.
