Monya Rowe Gallery is pleased to announce the second exhibition in our new Saint Augustine, Florida location. “The Other Side”, a group show, features work by Holly Coulis, Angela Dufresne, Amy Lincoln, Jake Longstreth, Eamon Ore-Giron and Sheila Pepe.
The six artists in this exhibition are united by their exploration of multiple realties through the use of symmetry and reflection. The “mirror” image has long been a source of investigation in art. It offers a complex pictorial space that accentuates parallels and intensifies duality. It can make a small space seem larger while exploring individual perceptions of space. The viewer is forced to reshape expectations of reality. Mirror imaging can create balance and harmony, but it can also intensity and confuse. The mirror has two faces.
